WHAT'S BEEN HAPPENING?

We officially launched Manawa-creative.com!
The MANAWA team have been having a blast sharing clips of our yarns on TikTok, Instagram and Facebook. Never would we ever have thought we’d do recordings of ourselves but realisitically we’ve been practicing for this for almost 20 years! We hope you enjoyed our ‘love story’ as much as we enjoyed creating it.

Te Reo Māori Kūki ‘Āirani | Cook Islands Language Week 2023
With the theme of ‘Connect me to the traditions and culture of my homeland’ this has allowed George an opportunity to reflect on her visit to Rarotonga and Aitutaki last year and her experience at Te Maeva Nui - the week-long festival celebrating being an independent nation, as well as attending her Strickland family reunion. Our Māmā Shona (pictured) is our connection to Kūki ‘Āirani and keeps the traditions alive simply by sharing her Māmā love and wisdom.
Mental Health
For Manawa, mental well-being is personal.
We recognise we are not experts in this area but we have experienced this first-hand and strive to be empathetic to everyone going through it; we accept that (even for us) this is easier said than done.
Whether you are a public figure or not, your mental well-being ought not be a point of discussion for others to gain publicity or notoriety from. Instead, let’s work on ways we can support each other, ways we can make it easier for our loved ones to reach out and say they’re not ok.
